About the Event

Concept:

We gather online in a historic moment before California and many other states ‘reopen’ for a

nourishing 90-minute sound healing and writing workshop that concludes the three part series:

Designing Our Way Through Crisis. You will receive a 30-minute sound healing experience from

Kristen Firpo, a sound healer and global innovation consultant (featured in Part II of the article

series) and then Holly Payne, an award-winning author and writing coach, will lead the group

in a writing exercise based on the five aspects of Post Traumatic Growth featured in the series

as way to see and celebrate your recent growth.

The sound healing will take you from a beta brain state to an alpha brain state which literally

sets us up to experience appreciation one of the five aspects of PTG From this state of

appreciation. Holly will then lead the group on a 30-minute inward journey to write a letter of

appreciation to anyone you choose. The letter will address one of the other four aspects of

Post Traumatic Growth: gaining strength, developing deeper relationships, seeing new

possibilities and finding more meaning in life. This collective letter of appreciation is inspired by

Nancy Davis Kho’s Thank You Project, another Collective Conscience salon guest.

From this relaxed yet focused state—complimented by creative energy—you will be invited to

share your letters and discuss them in the remaining 30 minutes. After the conclusion of the

workshop, all participants will be invited to publish their letters of appreciation in a group

‘appreciation board’ on the MOCA+ website, and can then individually share the link.

NOTE: This workshop is a somatic experience, not just an intellectual conversation/exercise.

The point is to bring everyone into this relaxed state through ceremony so that we create a

space to prepare us for our post-pandemic transition.

Workshop timing: 90-minutes

Format:

● 15 minute introduction and recap of five aspects of ‘post traumatic growth.’

● How writing is a way to ‘right’ -- and how it offers a ‘sixth’ tool for growth and healing

● Intro to sound healing, further explanation of the transition from beta to alpha brain wave

state.

● Sound healing: 30 minutes

● Writing time: 30 minutes

● Group share: 15 minutes
